Men and Candles

There's a misconception that men don't like candles. That is simply not true, as there a many men out there who enjoy a nice scented candle. This misconception comes from the idea that candles are feminine, and that there is a stigma for men who purchase and enjoy products that society deems to be feminine. Although, a majority of people who purchase candles are female, it does not make it purely for women.

The amount of candles men are buying is a surprising statistic. Here are some fun facts below:

  • 10% of total candles sold in the U.S. were from men in 2017, and this trend is expected to increase year over year.
  •  Both men and women consider candles to be an always-acceptable and highly appreciated gift for a wide range of special occasions.
  • 9 out of 10 candle users say they use candles to make a room feel comfortable and cozy. To the guys who had a long day, a candle can work wonders.

The main feature men are looking for in a candle is scent. A nice smell says a lot about a guy. It distinguishes them, and the right smell can make a man feel more masculine, and confident in himself. In addition, candles make for great home decoration pieces that adds ambiance and aroma to uplift a space.

Don't forget candles make great gifts for any occasion. If you don't know what to gift your man, a candle might be a better option than a tie or socks. Scented candles can bring back great memories for someone depending on the scent. These memories may have been locked up and forgotten until a scented candle unlocks that memory and reminds that man of his childhood or happy time in his life.
