Worth The Patience and Maintance

wooden wicks are more delicate than traditional cotton wicks, but are worth the care and patience to maintain.

1. On every burn allow the wax to fully melt to the edge of the jar to avoid tunneling which will affect the performance of your candle. Keep your wick trimmed by breaking off the TOP black bits of the wick with your fingers, or use nail clippers to shorten the wick to be about 1/8″ – 3/16″.

2. On every new burn, re-trim the wick to about 1/8." the shorter height allows the wax to capillary up the wick to feed the flame properly. If the wick is too long then it will not burn properly and eventually go out.

3. Do NOT burn the candle for longer than 4 hours at a time. Stop burning your candle when there is 1/4" wax remaining or when the metal wick clip is exposed at the bottom.

These 3 simple steps will help your candle burn clean and long.

Additional Tips

✦ Wooden wicks light best with a long lighter (hold it 5-8 seconds when lighting to give more fuel to the wick).

✦ If you think you've over trimmed the wick, use a butter knife to scrape out a bit of wax directly underneath the wick and relight with a BBQ lighter.

✦ If your candle starts to tunnel, your wick can have trouble staying lit.

If the tunnel isn't terrible - oftentimes it can be fixed. How? Use a butter knife to carefully take out the tunneling wax to level out the surface. Wax should all be level and approximately 1/8" below the wick.

As always, please follow the warning instructions located on the bottom of your candle. (never burn for longer then 4 hours at a time, do not light on or near any objects that can catch fire, do not allow any dust or debris to collect by keeping your lid on when not in use, always keep a burning candle in sight and only light on temperature safe surface away from drafts!
